PRESS RELEASE

29th October 2018: Vidatec, a leading mobile app and web development firm, based at the Stirling Innovation Park, has been recognised in the Business category at the Stirling Provost’s Civic Awards 2018.

Each year the Provost’s Civic awards recognises organisations and individuals that have made a significant contribution to their local communities, and achieved national recognition in their field. The categories cover all areas of life and vary from business, community, arts and culture, to sports and academic. The award ceremony was hosted by Provost Christine Simpson at Stirling Castle on Friday 26th October.

Vidatec, formerly known as Dogfish Mobile, have been developing web and mobile solutions for over a decade, with its core proposition focused on three key areas including health & wellbeing, social good and a better working world. Vidatec was recognised for its substantial contribution to digital technology, both nationally and internationally. Commenting on the award win, Greig Johnston, CEO of Vidatec said:

“We were nominated alongside many other talented individuals and organisations who have all made a significant contribution to the Stirling area and we are delighted to receive this award, as a recognition for our work.

“Our goal is to improve people’s experience of life through technology. Therefore, we are pleased to be recognised for our efforts and expertise in the business category. For example, Stirling Council has worked collaboratively with Vidatec to develop a customer focused solution that not only provides an aggregated ‘golden view’ of the council residents, but has dramatically improved efficiency, staff morale and is projected to deliver cost savings of up to £1.5 million.

“Looking ahead, Stirling remains critical to our future. We’ve been able to capitalise on an excellent business infrastructure and the skill set that exists within the city, making it one of the most desirable places in the UK to work. Over the past 12 months we’ve been able to tap into the local talent pool and increase our staff headcount by 40 per cent in the Stirling office and we have plans to grow this further. We’re very excited for our future in the region.”
