Insights launches app designed to enhance self-awareness and personal development

PRESS RELEASE

13 October 2020: Award-winning mobile and web app developer, Vidatec, has partnered with self-awareness and people development solutions specialist, Insights, to develop a new digital platform for front-line customer service staff.

The new easy-to-use app, Insights Explore, is designed to help employees enhance their self-awareness, teamwork and communications skills. Apprentices, graduates, retail and hospitality, and seasonal staff will all be able to learn more about their personality type and how they work with other members of their team.

Vidatec worked with the Insights digital project team offering expertise in user experience, user interface design and app development. The team created an operating system that was not only simple to use, but accessible across mobile and web-based platforms.

As a self-led learning tool that is easy to roll out across different organisations, it includes bitesize content to help users learn about themselves and their colleagues. It gives learners the ability to complete a short evaluation test to access Insights unique colour energies – Fiery Red, Earth Green, Cool Blue and Sunshine Yellow. Users can share their colour energy preferences with co-workers and wider networks through social media and email.

Greig Johnston, CEO of Vidatec, said: “We knew this project was integral to Insights digital transformation strategy, so wanted to create a meaningful experience for learners. We achieved this by working closely with Insights digital project team, from the initial scoping stage all the way through to quality assurance testing. Ultimately we’ve created an agile and informative app that can be accessed on the move and allows Insights to reach new markets within it’s global audience.”

Insights Explore will help service sector businesses around the world support the development of their operational staff and help workers exceed customers’ expectations. The app encourages teams to collaborate more effectively while on-the-go and aims to enhance the awareness of busy employees.

Greig continued: “It’s great to know a platform we created is having such a positive impact on an individual’s personal development. One of the main reasons we wanted to be involved in this project was the fact we felt Insights shared a very similar ethos to Vidatec. We’re both passionate about using technology as a vehicle for positive change.”

Insights Chief Executive, Fiona Logan, said: “Insights Explore extends our memorable four-colour model to help workers learn more about themselves and collaborate more effectively while they are on-the-go. This fantastic digital solution will bring better soft skills and enhanced self-awareness to busy employees and teams, and perfectly complements our long-established, in-depth and more personalised Insights Discovery offer.”
