The app, which was launched in April, has been offered free for 30 days to help support organisations and their employee wellbeing as they face real challenges of dealing with the Coronavirus crisis.

Barclay, who has won 76 caps for his country, will help to promote the app and the wider importance of effective communication among teams.

Recent organisations to sign up to Engage4 include the Rugby League European Federation. The app has also been taken up by a range of businesses from food wholesalers Bidfood who have supplied food, drink and catering equipment for over 20 years to service led organisations including; global people development company Insights and hotel chain Apex, which runs ten four-star hotels throughout the UK.

Engage4 is designed to offer leaders and employees a new way to connect and engage with each other regardless of their location. Enabling business leaders and employees to communicate with each other to ensure their wellbeing is monitored. This is supported by exclusive wellbeing content, provided by Workwise Wellness Solutions, that includes tips on coping with stress in the workplace and improving overall wellbeing through a range of lifestyle choices.

A community news feed and the option to create groups within the app means that even when away from the office, employees stay connected with each other. A check in pulse and light touch survey allows managers to track how the workforce is feeling at any given time and a ‘high-5’ employee recognition feature and a microlearning platform helps to support employees through their careers.

Speaking of his appointment as brand ambassador, John Barclay said:

“In sport, success is often shaped by efforts away from the field of play, and that also applies to the world of work.

“For me mental resilience is key to delivering a winning performance, as it can affect your physical and emotional wellbeing. I look forward to working with the Vidatec team to help raise awareness on the importance of maintaining positive wellbeing and how Engage4 can be used as a tool to help.”

Greig Johnston, CEO of Vidatec, said:

“We are delighted to have John onboard as our brand ambassador for Engage4. It’s also been encouraging to see a real diverse mix of organisations of all sizes and from different sectors starting to adopt Engage4. It’s good to see a real focus on supporting employee wellbeing at very difficult and challenging time.”
