Junior Product Owner (FTC)

Summary:

We are seeking a Product Owner with a strong background in software development to join our growing team. Reporting to our Strategic Programme & Relationship Manager, the Product Owner will play a pivotal role in the all stages of our client projects this will involve running and planning workshops to gather and document requirements, managing the project life cycle which will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders at various levels.

 

As an initial 6 month FTC with possibility to extend, this role is ideal for a candidate who has recently graduated from University and is looking to expand their expertise in the Digital and AI space as product owner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with client stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear and comprehensive requirements for new projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement optimised workflows and procedures, leveraging industry best practices to drive efficiency and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with the project management and development team to ensure accurate translation of requirements into functional specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, conduct process mapping, and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to internal team members, addressing any issues or concerns during implementation.
  • Working internally with the Technical Lead, QA Lead and Senior UI/UX Designer to support on project delivery to meet client requirements, timelines and budget.
  • Assist with project pre-initiation phase by supporting business users in preparing project documentation such as statement of works and other relevant client facing documentation.
  • Work closely with the project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Work with the project team to define initial costs and timelines for each project.
  • Provide regular reporting on projects both internally and client facing.
  • Provide training to users upon handover.

 

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager or Business Analyst, and demonstrable experience translating business needs into solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in gathering and documenting requirements, conducting process mapping, and creating functional specifications.
  • Experience working with and understanding the full software development life cycle within agile project management.
  • Using agile practice, capture project requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria and maintaining these through the project delivery.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence
