Crystal Ski Holidays, part of the TUI family, is one of the world’s largest ski tour operators, serving guests in over 130 resorts worldwide, from Europe to North America. With a strong reputation for expert service and comprehensive holiday experiences, Crystal Ski needed an app that would further enhance the customer experience, ensuring skiers have access to the information they need—where and when they need it.

The Process

To meet this challenge, Vidatec used a carefully tailored design methodology, focusing on both the app’s objectives and the needs of the users. This approach provided a solid foundation for creating an app that would improve the end-to-end guest experience. The project required in-depth understanding of how to seamlessly integrate real-time data from over 130 resorts while accounting for low mobile signal and constantly changing snow conditions.

The Solution

Vidatec’s team developed an innovative solution that not only improved the user interface and design but also introduced a groundbreaking feature for mapping resorts and ski routes. Using advanced algorithms, the app features a fully functional sat-nav for the slopes, a crucial tool in areas with limited geo-location data. Additionally, a real-time “Find My Friend” system was implemented to help users locate their friends on the mountain.

The Final Result

The newly launched app provides Crystal Ski customers with real-time updates on snow conditions, live resort mapping, and interactive features that enhance their experience before, during, and after their stay. The addition of a direct feedback feature has improved communication with guests, allowing Crystal Ski to quickly respond to feedback and continue refining the app. Overall, the app has helped Crystal Ski maintain its exceptional reputation for customer service, providing guests with a seamless, innovative experience.
