It’s a hectic time of year for everyone, and no one has a tougher time of it than Santa Claus himself! He’s got to deliver all the presents across the world in a single night - that’s quite a project! I’m sure Santa keeps up to date with all the latest tech though and is bound to have a smartphone on him – with literally millions of apps available, which ones could he be using to help him get through Christmas? Here’s a few I think he should download!
He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice…… probably more frequently to be honest, it’s a BIG list! I’m sure Santa will have moved on from keeping paper lists though – it’s not very environmentally friendly and the reindeers probably eat them. A great alternative he could use is this awesome app from Clay Pot Software, Santa’s Bag. He can keep his list in the app, keep a note of individual gift ideas and budgets, make shopping lists and much much more! It also has a handy countdown timer too, making sure he can get organised in plenty of time.
Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight? Nine reindeer are a lot to manage! Santa has to spend a lot of time making sure they’re ready for the big night but with everything else going on, it’s probably difficult for him to spend as much time with them as he’d like. Thankfully, this app makes it super easy for him to keep an eye on Rudolph and friends! With multiple camera angles, Santa can use his smartphone to check up on them at any time.
Santa Claus is coming to town – but what’s the best route for him to take?? With a few billion stops to make in one night, working out the most efficient delivery route would be a real time saver! Used by logisitics and delivery organisations around the world, the Route4Me app automatically plans out the best way to make multiple stops on one route and would give Santa the turn by turn directions he needs to get all those deliveries made in record time!
Here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus lane - this is more one for Mrs Claus – NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been tracking Santa’s progress around the world every Christmas since 1955! For the past two years, they’ve also released a mobile app version of their website, letting anyone in the world track Santa’s journey wherever they are – perfect for letting Mrs Claus keep an eye on him. The app also has a countdown timer as well as stories and games to keep her entertained!
When Santa got stuck up the chimney - he maybe thought it was time get a wee bit fitter! Given how hard Santa works on Christmas night, he absolutely deserves all those mince pies, gingerbread and other treats that are left out for him. But that’s a LOT of calories to take in over one night! Santa might decide to get in shape in the new year when he gets some time to focus on himself before starting planning for next Christmas. Thankfully, there’s plenty of apps available to help with that.
For example, Public Health England have a great range of apps available for anyone looking to improve their health and fitness, from making small changes to forming new habits, like their award-winning Couch to 5K app. Couch to 5K is a fantastic program designed to take absolute beginners and get them running in just 9 weeks. It’s a super simple program that helps motivate users with encouraging narrators and hints and tips throughout – Santa would probably want to complete the program indoors on a treadmill rather than dodge the polar bears at the North Pole!
I’m sure that there’s plenty more apps that Santa could use! If you can think of any, please let us know on our social media feeds, @Vidatecforlife on Twitter or get us on Facebook here. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
